Hill’s Science Diet Ads ‘Borrowed’ from a Student?

“Why innovate when you can copy and then talk sh*t” – once wrote some guy on flickr on his picture. JWT Sydney created an advertising campaign (won Cannes 2007 Lion) which strongly resembles another advert created by a student from School of Advertising  (a winner of  a student award at the Clio 2005 Awards).

I don’t know about you guys, but the idea of a light stream going through the dog’s body and coming out of its other end doesn’t come up so often.

This probably “borrowed” advertising campaign promotes Pet Pantry’s Science Diet Dog Food in Australia. Three dogs, Snoop, Rocko,  and Fluffer, are inspected in a vet’s clinic, but the vet finds out that what goes in their mouths comes out the other end.

Award:  Silver Lion at Cannes 2007 ( for point of purchase posters in the outdoor advertising category)

And a similar  idea 3 years before..

Use Fiji Travel Services and You Can Throw Away Your Clothes

Take off your clothes, cause you won’t need them anymore with Fiji Travel. This advert is especially motivating when the weather isn’t so good and you just want to leave everything behind and go to a sunny, wonderful place..

What can we learn from this ad? Adding some real 3d objects around a dull 2d poster can make it very eye catchy and even viral on the net.

Termix Club – Sport Gay Bar

There are a lot of clubs for gays, where they can party, but what about sport bars? Gays are men too – they may also want to watch football or basketball in their own company. No problem, at least for those living in Czech Republic – club “Termix” is a sport gay bar.

This is probably one of the sport event screen-shots of a game called “succer”.

Durex – Enjoy the Other Side

Durex  ads are creative, amusing and subtle as always. The company presented it’s lubricant for.. the other side. While the objects in those adverts has nothing to do with the product itself, their other sides look very unusual and eye-catchy. The images catch our attention because we actually almost never see the back of these things in our lives, so our mind just cannot ignore them. Besides that, it must be the most subtle way to show where exactly to use the lubricant.

David Beckhams’ Armani Underwear Adverts Got Spoofed Twice

We always loved British humor, and this is a superb example that these guys can be funny as hell – James Corden, a comedian from Britain, decided to imitate David Beckham’s pose from Armani underwear advert.

White pants are not only for Beckham!

Ok, maybe he is not as muscular as David, but it is evident that he has something more under his pants.

Nevertheless, it seems that Corden was not the only one who was inspired by Becks’s advertisings. A 70-year-old British magician (British again!), Paul Daniels, posed with his wife in Closer magazine, in a parody of Posh and Becks’ high profile Emporio Armani ad.

David and Victoria Beckham’s Emporio Armani are sexy.

These guys are real.

After looking at these spoofs, you start wondering – what would happen, if ordinary people appeared in the ads instead of  the sexy and perfect celebrities.
