queer-travel.de – the Other Side of America

As I’m not an expert on gay stuff, all I can say is that this ad made me smile. I also have a feeling that it is effectively communicating with its target queer audience (gay people like asses). However no matter how cool and creative this ad is, I wouldn’t travel with these guys.

Challenge:

Based on concept: “Sometimes it’s all you need to wear”, the mission was to create an unprecedented awareness campaign that will motivate consumers to purchase Christina Aguilera’s new perfume.

Solution:

Tens of thousands of quality clothes hangers, with a perfume sample and a branded Christina Aguilera label connected to each hanger, were hung in public locations all over the country.

Results:

Reaching over 1,500,000 consumers, the campaign led to the highest sales ever for a new perfume in Israel and got extensive news coverage in newspapers, TV and online. The perfume was sold out in less than a week.

Strange Buildings and Unusual Architecture

Strangely enough a lot of people don’t get the idea behind this ad. It’s simple! After you’ve walked past the billboard on the left, which is 3m long, you will be 197m from the McDonald’s. That’s hilarious. I’m loving it!

The ad is of course not new, nevertheless it’s still great, and won Gold Lion in Cannes few years ago. It is said that “In Advertising, Less is More”, and it is a great example of this. Thumbs up for the copywriter!

A similar concept has been used before, and you can see it below.

Just a simple line, thats it. Which one do you find better?

Tyskie – Beer Mugs Stickers

“The idea of this ad is to promote Tyskie beer among young people in a more involving way. We installed “Beer mugs stickers” behind door handles of restaurants, pubs, shops, etc. When people are opening the door they can easily imaging themselves drinking beer”

Two problems with this ad: 1) already done by an agency in India for Kingfisher Beer 2)if your child opens these doors, will it be cool then?

Other than that, the ad is really cool, creative, fun and etc.

Art Director: Michał Kamiński
Copywriter: Kamil Kowalczyk
Released: May 2009

The idea was probably “borrowed” from this ad:

Police – Slower is Better

Ok, the work of course has some flaws, cause the percentage of the crash possibility is nonsense, and driving 26 Mph won’t necessary  get you in hospital for 26 days. But the main idea behind this is not about being exact and scientific, the idea is to get our attention, and think for a while. It could not work on many of us, but if it saves 1 life – it was worth doing. Nice idea, minor flaws with execution, overall a tight job.
