Silk Soft – 100% Recycled (99% say the ad is sick)

If you haven’t guessed yet this lovely sticker is a toilet tissue promotion.

The objectives of this campaign were:

1) promote the fact that Silk soft is 100% recycled

2) make some awareness on a low budget

Idea: to communicate that Silk soft is truly 100% recycled by putting stickers on standard toilet tissue dispensers on selected public toilets around Copenhagen.

Some ideas that may pop into your head: who would wipe his ass on toilet paper who has already been in someone else’s ass? And why the paper isn’t brown?

99% percent say it’s disgusting and gross but if people are talking about it, then it is successful. We can talk and talk about it, but in the end it’s all about their sales.

Terra Travel – Routine Sucks

This ad clearly communicates a message, that “the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.” Ok let’s think for awhile… This means, that if I travel somewhere (go to the other side), the side that I’ve been before becomes the greener. This leads to a conclusion – traveling is worthless. Or am I digging too deep?

Oh, almost forgot to mention that this campaign leads to Terra Brazil’s tourism portal, www.terra.com.br/turismo.

Davidoff Cigars – Every Man Has a D-Spot (is this ad guy already dead from smoking?)

Strange Buildings and Unusual Architecture

It’s my personal opinion, but this looks more like a mortal agony than orgasm. His pale skin and disturbing face expression is probably the result of chain smoking. Don’t want to go on about this, but this is a terrible ad, advertising a terrible thing.

P.S.: According to Danielle K. Hawthorne (Davidoff Brand Manager) these ads are NOT approved by Davidoff. Someone has taken unapproved liberties by using the Davidoff logo and posting these as if they were currently running.

Prostate Cancer? Test Your Blood!

“The early detection examination for prostate cancer no longer takes place where it would be expected. A simple blood test in the crook of the arm suffices. Preferably early on. Ask your doctor and gain information on www.prostatakrebs.ch

Yes, a prostate examination is no longer involving your tail, but only the vein on your arm. No more disgusting procedures!

Keeping in mind, how important the message of this ad is, I am very glad that it was implemented in such a creative way. It instantly catches attention, and communicates the message very clearly. Love it, 10/10.

Fisch Franke – the Living poster Filled with Water and Real Fish (cool or cruel?)

I’m sure that 99% of the people passing by stopped and examined that living ad poster filled with real fish. What can we learn from this creative advertisement? Putting some real (even living!) stuff in the ad makes the difference between just another advert and a killer ad. Cool or cruel? I think both.

Oh, and I believe it was a bit risky decision, because imagine a situation, where one of the fishes suddenly floated tummy up.

Watch a video about the living poster on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hwxq-CNfQC0

P.S.: It is said ,that the living poster was built according to the recommendations of the federal veterinary office and
the animals have been provided with sufficient air, food and cooling.

Witte Molen – Turns Birdie into Man’s Best Friend (or birds with dog heads)

“Turns Birdie into man’s best friend. Our newly enriched formula with millet branch. So delicious, you may see new sings of loyalty.”

The idea is creative indeed, and combined with good photoshoping skills makes a really eye catchy ad campaign. Some people find it somewhat disturbing, but we all know that shocking stuff get noticed much better and tend to become viral. Plus, the communicated idea is pretty clear and simple – make your bird loyal and friendly as a dog.

Don’t Take Your Kids to Arlington Pediatric Center (logo fail twice)

Don’t know about you, but I’m a bit suspicious about a company with such logo. It became really viral on the net, however I don’t think they are very happy about that. This must be now the best known pediatric center in the world, and it would be really interesting to know how such logo affected their clients.

Here is their building in 601 S. Carlin Springs Road, Arlington, VA  22204

Just checked their website, and apparently they have changed their logo to something more pleasing.

It’s no longer a pedophilic center. Now it has something to do with crabs (look attentively at letter C). FAIL again or is it their marketing strategy?
