13th Street Channel – The Art Of Frightening (Ad Campaign)

It looks like this channel just never stops. Here’s another very creative campaign from 13th Street.

For those who doesn’t know yet, 13th Street is a television channel which runs in Germany and France and specializes in action and suspense shows and movies.

The one with the phone is the best one, while the last one is least convincing, but not too bad also.

Simplicity and a clear message – thumbs up for the advertising agency.

McDonald’s – Make a Deal

Parents know, that McDonald’s restaurants are not the best place for their kids to eat out, but on the other hand, it may still be better than other children’s caprices.  So if you don’t want to own a Tarantula,  ride a turbo-coaster or watch some dumb children movie – ” Make a deal!”.

Quite an interesting advertising approach, however hookedonads.com team doesn’t recommend taking your kid there. Did you know that McDonald’s spends approximately $1.4 billion annually on advertising, most of which is directed at pre-teens? In the movie “Super Size Me”, Spurlock jokes that he will battle the socialization of his children by punching them in the face every time they pass a McDonald’s so that the golden arches do not elicit happy memories.

Pattex Glue – Instant Hold

Strange Buildings and Unusual Architecture

This is such a simple, but together a brilliant idea. Strange that nobody thought of this before.

Of course, there are some minor drawbacks. While the main idea and message to the viewer is – the glue instantly holds, the question arises – “how come this glue doesn’t dry instantly?” We rate this ad 8+.

Indianapolis 500 – Best Things Start in Garages(Van Halen & Steve Jobs)

Did you know that the best things start in garages? Not only the cars are started there, but also Van Halen and Steve Jobs started here!

It’s a great example, that sometimes advertisements doesn’t need anything fancy – just a plain B&W picture and a wonderful idea, that’s it! We rate it 10/10.

Van Halen, 1974. Rock Legends

Take a loot at the one with a white T-shirt. Funny guy.

Steve Jobs,1972. Co-founder, Apple Computers

Who is this computer geek? Oh, it’s Steve Jobs! What a mess – and I heard that now he has only a chair and a bed in his house.

Colgate Plax – Don’t Mask It. Eliminate It!

It seems that there might be a little fight between chewing gum manufacturers and Colgate.  We’ve already heard that chewing Orbit, Dirol (or any other gum) after a meal is healthy for our teeth many times before, yeah? Here comes Colgate and  says – don’t mask it, eliminate it! It would be interesting to see Orbit’s move (or any other chewing gum).

Oh, and is it me or these guys look kinda strange in these ads? The first guy definitely reminds me of a fish.

BETA – Adopt a Dog. You won’t Come Home to This

BETA (Beirut for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is encouraging you to adopt a dog. Why should you do this? Because dogs will never come late after some party, will never smoke pot, and they will never read Playdog! Add to this list their endless love and loyalty, and you’ll know what to adopt next.  Pretty convincing ads, huh?

Be Careful Bringing Philips Flat Screen Home

At first glance, you might think that these posters advertise an mp3 player or a cell phone (which just fell into the hole). What is surprising that it’s actually Philips flat screen advert. It is so thin that it even fell into this narrow hole!

Next time be careful bringing it home – it’s “the thinnest flat screen in its class”.
